Puppy Training

Start your puppy off on the right paw with our comprehensive puppy training program. We'll help you teach your furry friend basic commands and how to respond appropriately to their surroundings. Puppies learn quickly, which is why a training course that helps build owners’ relationship with their new dog the right way is ideal. You will also learn about proper socialization, fair play groups, desensitization,  how to potty train, and the importance of crate training!

Obedience Training

Our obedience training program is designed to create a strong bond between you and your dog. From leash manners to recall, we'll help you achieve a well-behaved, engaged, and obedient companion. The basic cues;

Okay, Focus, Sit & Sit Stay, Come, Down & Down-Stay, Heel, Drop-It and Leave-It.

We will cover Duration, Distance, & Distractions to ensure a solid foundation is built.

Behavior Modification

Is your dog exhibiting unwanted behaviors? Our behavior modification program focuses on management and treatment for behavioral issues such as resource guarding, separation anxiety, jumping on people, inappropriate chewing, door dashing, fearfulness, reactivity & more!

Shelter Dog Training Program

We strive to help keep adopted shelter dogs in their new homes and to help prevent established dogs from becoming a shelter dog. Unfortunately, these difficult decisions can arise without an alternative option. In some cases people decide they are out of options and need to re-home or surrender due to the inability to afford a trainer. We provide services for these situations! We want to keep families united with their beloved pets and do our part to help keep our local shelters from overflowing. We are partnered with the Humane Society of Northwest Montana. If you have recently adopted a dog from this facility, please take advantage of our Shelter Dog Training Program so we can provide you with helpful skills to set you up to be successful adopters! To be eligible for this program, you must contact us for your free consultation and schedule your first training session within thirty days of the adoption date. We will ask you for your Training Shelter Dog Package Certificate.

For owners who are facing an urgent situation and currently have the inability to afford a trainer, please reach out by phone or email.

You can do so by visiting the Contact Us tab at the top of this page.

Don't wait until it's too late!

Frequently Asked Questions

What training methods do you use?

Positive Reinforcement

We believe that creating a canine-human relationship built on positive interaction & consistency can:

  • Often deter future unwanted behavior problems
  • Facilitate faster learning
  • Solve existing behavioral challenges
  • Nurture a healthy canine-human bond

This philosophy incorporates scientific behavioral principles of operant conditioning and the LIMA approach (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) method in every training case.

How long does a training session last?

  • One-on-one training sessions typically last around 60 minutes, but can vary depending on the specific needs of you and your dog.
  • Day training will vary on a case by case basis. Some might be 60 minutes and others might be an entire day. Some cases might be one session and others might be multiple sessions per week.

Do you offer group classes?

We currently only offer one-on-one sessions and day training.

  • The one-on-one sessions are one hour with you, your dog and our trainer that will address your specific needs. We will be teaching you to train your dog and help make sure there is full communication between you and your beloved dog. We will explain the concepts and techniques you will need to follow in order to maintain your dog’s progress. This can be held at your home or in a public setting.
  • The day training format is where our trainer will work directly with your dog addressing your specific needs. This can be done with or without you overseeing the session. We will have a transfer session to show you how to use the behaviors your dog has learned. We will explain the concepts and techniques you will need to follow in order to maintain your dog’s progress. This can be done at your home or in a public setting.

How old does my puppy need to be to start training?

We encourage owners to begin training immediately! Our dogs are always learning so we suggest giving them structured training time from the start. Puppies can only handle short sessions so keep them short and sweet, two through five minutes, multiple times per day. If they are not fully vaccinated, please only expose them to sanitary enviroments.
